The rules for booking a placement session, using this website and the Ovation Portal. Plain English, no surprises.
Effective October 21, 2026. By booking a session or using the Ovation Portal, you agree to these terms.
Ovation Music Co. (“Ovation,” “we,” “us”) is a performance-focused piano school in Beaumont, Texas, owned by Moriah Capital Management LLC. These terms cover this website, booking a placement session, and the Ovation Portal. Our lesson and payment policies and privacy policy are part of these terms.
The free placement session is a 30-minute meeting at the piano with an Ovation teacher. It places the student in the right stage and book and maps their first 90 days. It carries no charge and no obligation to enroll.
Please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours ahead, using the link in your confirmation email or by contacting us. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, we may need to shorten the session or move it to another time. After two missed sessions without notice, we may ask you to book by phone or email instead of online.
We may occasionally need to move a session because of illness, weather or a studio closure. If we do, we contact you as early as we can and offer the next available times.
Enrollment happens at or after placement, with your teacher. Tuition, payment plans (Full Score or Monthly), makeups, pauses, refunds and the performance guarantee are set out in our lesson and payment policies. Payments are processed by Stripe through the Ovation Portal. Prices on this website can change, but your rate is locked once you enroll, as the policies describe.
Enrolled families and students, instructors and staff use the Ovation Portal, run on Teachworks. Keep your login private and tell us if you think someone else has used it. You're responsible for activity on your account. Practice videos and messages you send through the portal are seen only by Ovation teachers and staff.
We expect respectful behavior from students, families and staff. We may end a session, or decline a booking, if behavior puts anyone's safety or wellbeing at risk. Our safeguarding policy applies to every session.
We film or photograph a student, or post their work, only with written permission from a parent (or the student, if 18 or older). See photos and video.
When you book, we email you a confirmation and reminders about the session. We text you only if you agree to it; message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for help.
The Ovation Method, our lesson books, practice editions, videos and website content belong to Ovation Music Co. Enrolled students may use them for their own lessons and practice. Please don’t copy, share or sell them without our written permission.
We work hard to keep the studio safe and this website accurate, but the website is provided “as is.” To the extent the law allows, Ovation is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim about a placement session is limited to the amount you paid for it (the session is free). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited under Texas law.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of Jefferson County, Texas, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do. Changes don’t affect a session already booked.
